Early life


Cristiano Ronaldo was born at São Pedro, Funchal in Portugal, his children grew up in the Funchal parish of Santo António, Ronaldo is the youngest child of his family. Mother Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, she is a housewife & his father José Dinis Aveiro work as a municipal gardener and also works a part-time job as a kit man.

Ronald Reagan was the U.S. president at that time when his father admire him a lot so as if Cristiano Ronaldo get called Ronaldo. Ronaldo has one older brother name Hugo and two older sisters name Elma and Liliana Cátia. His great-grandmother on his father's side Isabel da Piedade was from São Vicente, Cape Verde.

Cristiano grew up in a Catholic and he used to share a room with his brother and sisters. As a child, Ronaldo played for amateur team Andorinha from 1992 to 1995 and later on, he spent two years with Nacional. At the aged 12, he went on a 3 day trial with Sporting CP and he got an offer to join the club in a whopping amount £1,500. Then after he moved from Madeira to Alcochete near Lisbon to join Sporting's CP club.



At the age of 14, Ronaldo believed he had the ability to play semi-professionally and he asks his mother that he will cease his education to put more focus on football. So he can improve his skills and get more practices.


He was popular among the students. At the school, he had been asked to leave the school after throwing a chair at his teacher in that he said teacher disrespected him. However, one year later he was diagnosed with a racing heart a condition that could have forced him to give up playing football.

He underwent an operation in which a laser was used to cauterize the affected area of his heart after an hour he gets discharged from hospital and then he resumes his training after a few days.
